Nancy Hamlin-Vogler
About the Artist:
Nancy Hamlin-Vogler is known for her expressive, abstract, mixed-media paintings that explore still life, landscape, and figurative subjects.
After completing graduate school and armed with an M.A. in French Literature, Nancy Hamlin-Vogler developed an interest in the silkscreen printing process and designed a line of cards known as Eastern Sun Printworks. The small company traveled with her in a family-inspired move from Colorado to St. Augustine, FL, where she set up shop in a funky commercial building near the historic downtown and ran every aspect of design, production, and distribution of her hand silkscreened greeting cards. Around this time, Nancy also began devoting time to her fine art career and enrolled in several painting workshops in North Florida.
Her works are featured in juried art festivals and galleries as well as in regional invitational exhibitions. Among Nancy's recent awards, her mixed media drawing, Strange Birds in a Quandary was accepted into the Woodson Art Museum’s acclaimed "Birds in Art 2023" exhibition. In 2022, she was chosen by the St. Johns Cultural Council to present a comprehensive exhibition at the Rotunda Gallery in the St. Johns County Administration Building. In 2020, she received a second Individual Art Ventures grant from The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida, to explore the still life genre. She regularly exhibits at the St. Augustine Art Association and co-directs the Louise Freshman Brown workshops. She is a member artist at Butterfield Garage Art Gallery in St. Augustine.
