Children often have a way of preserving special experiences and tender memories with keepsake objects. Sometimes hiding (or even locking) them away. This rare and very old lithographed paper-covered wood safe stores a young boy’s treasures. Among them: a silver dollar, a small children’s bible, a 1933 Babe Ruth Card replica, a WWI toy soldier, an arrowhead, an Indian-head penny, and a “First-Prize” pin. Symbolically mounted atop the safe is an antique German-made compass. A Buffalo-head nickel is dropping into the saving’s slit. Two marbles from Italy rest on a wooden stand.
