Ummarid "Tony" Eitharong has spent the better part of the last 30 years exhibiting his large-scale photo-realistic portraits and mixed-media assemblages dealing with paradoxes of war in galleries and outdoor art festivals throughout the U.S. However for the month of September 2011, Eitharong will fill the walls of the Arts on Douglas' featured exhibition space with highly colorful, spontaneous, discerning abstract paintings. His approach to this “new chapter” of work is just as intuitive as his approach to his latter, with special attention to mark making and drawing as well as color.
