Artist Bio or Statement

As I see it... Although my paintings are figurative, I think of them first as abstractions. Each springs from an inner reaction to the subject, and I consciously try to retain some of my emotional response throughout the painting process. I hope that my concern for the environment surfaces in some of the individual pieces and certainly in the group taken as a whole.
